The ones I have on floppy disk and the one I downloaded, only appear to have win 98, or XP. Note that registered members see fewer ads, and ContentLink is completely disabled once you log in. What else could I try? Is the Fasttrack Bios part of the Asus Bios or is it updated by another means? Ask a question and give support.

I can get the bios to recognize that there’s 2 drives on the Promise controller. I recently loaded vista onto my asus a7v8x motherboard with a raid1 setup via the promise fastrack controller. Major problem with Promise FastTrack 378 controller (under WinXP)
Promise FastTrack controller for Vista. Faasttrack 1, at 2: If you don’t respond to that within x 5? The issue is either you didn’t use the setup utility to assign drives or raid or there is an issue with the drives physically or electrically in it’s attachment to the raid array. Find More Posts by Carl2. At the screen where it requested that I install 3rd party drivers I put in the floppy and then manually selected the win xp drivers and they loaded with no problems. To do this I have to use the Promise Fast Track Bios utillity to delete my existing array and create a new one. I’ve done my homework with this drive and it seems that the only way to recognize the harddrive is to have a patched kernel to recognize this drive.

I did not change the setup of my hard drives before or after installing Windows 7. The settings for RAID for fastteack built into the main chipset drive controller are in the mboard’s bios Setup. The ones I have on floppy disk and the one I downloaded, only appear to have win 98, or XP.
